OnePlus has always been known for their high-end devices, often with build quality and specs that are unrivaled in the industry. Their “Nord” line is their more budget-friendly series, but as noted the specs often outrival other mid-tier devices. One thing holding OnePlus back is their stock OS, but with iodéOS (also spelled iodéOS, iodé OS, iodeOS, or iode OS) this is solved: no more locked down devices with outdated software and bundled apps that you can’t remove!

As a further comparison to the Nord N20, the dimensions are a bit larger overall, but the battery size has also been increased. Note that to keep things cost effective the under-display fingerprint sensor has been replaced by one integrated into the power button on the side. Additionally, the display, while still being quite nice, is now an IPS LCD screen rather than the AMOLED display of the OnePlus Nord N20.

NOTE: iodé (also spelled iodé or iode) themselves do not provide official builds for this device, but we at OpenMobile create our own builds and provide OTA (“Over The Air”) monthly updates for them.

NOTE: Due to manufacturer or build limitations, these devices are sold with the bootloader unlocked. There may be a message at boot to this effect, but never fear: your personal user data is always encrypted and secure with modern Android! It can only be decrypted using your login pattern or password.
 While an unlocked bootloader by itself does not expose your data, a malicious actor with some programming skills could, in theory, tamper with the system in a way that would steal your data after you begin using the phone again.
